'93 K1100 Final Drive lube: 90W Synthetic OK?
« on: August 31, 2012, 10:47:46 AM »
:loopy:  OK, I assume this has been asked before......  I recently swaped out the FD on this '93 K1100, as it was making metal on the magnetic plug.  I am ready to put oil in the replacement, and I hope to avoid another failure.  Is 75/90Wt Synthetic lube OK, Better, A bad idea, ???????    Sometimes I think I'm doing the best and find out it causes some other related problem.  Seals compatible?  I would appreciate a comment from someone that has done this.  Thanks..........   KC    cool shades cool shades

75-90 or 80-90 is what to use.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.
