Trade????? 08 KLR for a 91 or newer Brick

I have a 2008 KLR 650. It is in excellent condition. I ride it daily. I am the second owner. I bought it last May with 1400 miles and currently have just under 12,000 miles. Oil changes occur every 2000 miles religiously. It has relatively new tires. Less than 1000 miles fore and aft.

I recently have had the opportunity to drive a few Bricks and have become enamoured with them. In addition my riding style tends to be more road oriented than I originally anticipated. That said I am looking to trade this bike for a 1991 or newer K75, K100 or K1100 in good running order. I'd prefer the LT,RT,r RS or S versions of either bike. (I need a fairing cuz I ride in crap weather) I'd also prefer the mileage to be in the 35K range or lower, but that would not be a deal breaker if the bike was well maintained and is in good running, drive away order. I'd also prefer original BMW bags to be part of the deal.
This moto is all original. I've added heated grips and a 12 volt accessory plug. The moto will come with one pelican case and panier racks. The right side fairing was damaged by the PO as a result of a drop on a trailer. I've never thought it necessary to replace it.
My motivation for this transaction is that I am a school teacher. Funds only allow me to own one motorcycle and it is my primary mode of transport.

I might consider it. I own a righteously dirt farkled 2007 KLR650. Wouldn't mind having a more streetish 2008 for the commute. Great machines.

But here's the thing: The 2008s were notorious for ring problems that made them use oil unreal. Have your rings been replaced? Or was your machine made after that series? I know there are forums where you can look up by serial number and find out if you fall into that category. Not to speak of the doohickey spring fiasco.

Sounds good....My rings have not been replaced.  Haven't seen a need to yet.  I don't really know if mine falls in that group or not.  I have done the whole wiring harness debacle!!! Shame on Kawa!!!
