k75 with idle problems

Got a nasty problem here and need some ideas.  Start out buy fessing up to the fact that I "caught " my K75 on fire about this time last year/ put my hands in motion before the mind was in gear  STUPID.  Put the problem on the backburner for the time being.  I have other K's to ride--94K11/85 K100/2000R11..  So this spring decided it was time to bring my "baby" back to life.  The fire was minor in as much as the wiring and some body work were the only things damaged.   Got a wiring loom from eBay and installed.  All is good ---well not really.  When I start it the revs go thru the roof.  5k and climbing!!!!   It's only got 140K on it so I gotta get it running--just getting her broke in.   All the cables are on correctly and everything looks to be in alignment. Got any ideas where I'm screwing up.

Is it hitting on all cylinders?

I doubt the engine would rev like that if the TB butterflies were closed so I'd start there.  Make sure they're closed.  Make sure the twist-grip isn't stuck at a non-idle setting.  It has been a while since I looked at one closely but, can you hear the throttle position switch "click" when you close the throttle.

Are all the by-pass screws in place?  If they're missing that may cause an excess of air to enter the engine causing it to rev.

Butterflies are closed.  Throttle cable is free and working as should.  I can twist the throttle and watch the cable move the butterflies  I can hear the TPS switch open and close.  Does not sound to be missing at all.   Fact of the matter it's smooth as can be with no backfiring--- just wants to rev through the roof.   I have a spare FI brain that I swapped out and it does the same thing.  Could the MAF sensor be causing some of this?  I did replace the air box.  It wasn't really unusable but I had a spare so it got changed out.  I had a new coolant temp sensor and replaced that just for the heck of it.  I'm pulling my hair out here.

I encountered this once.  Couldn't for the life of me figure out what was causing it.  Turned out that when I'd put the plenum box back on top of the TB's that I'd nudged the TPS out of position so that it wouldn't let the throttle close all of the way.  Worth checking...
