charging light on for 94 bmw k75s

I have this 1994 bmw k75s and the charging light came on weakly at first.  Now I notice it coming on more bright but not as bright as when you first turn ignition on.  My old K100 used to have the charging light faintly come on occasionally and I learned to ignore it.  Is this an issue I should be concerned with?  I noticed from the service records of the prior owner he had the alternator replaced and it had only 30000 miles on it.

First, verify that the battery connections are clean and coupled tightly to the battery, that the alternator cable is tightened onto its post, that the battery ground cable connection is clean and fastened tightly to the transmission, and that the battery is in good enough condition to hold a charge. After all that is verified, let the complications begin.
