Engine dies when cold
« on: September 17, 2023, 01:34:46 PM »
Lately, the motor will die when stopping and it is still warming up. After several miles, it will hold an 1100 rpm idle if thoroughly warm. When I press the start when warm, the idle increases 150 rpm. So, that seems ok. Wondering if the coolant sensor might be bad? Only 11000 miles on it. The P.O. messed with the throttle sacred screws and it took me quite a while to sort that out.

Is it taking longer than normal to warm up?

A longer warm-up time for me was an indication I needed to check my valve lash. A couple were out of spec and replacement shims took care of it.

Thanks for the reply. I ‘ll check them soon. Doubt that they have been serviced in the 11,000 miles on the clock.
