Thought I would reintroduce myself, after a long break from K's
I brought a K100RS, back from the dead, when I first joined a few years ago, but it took me that long to complete (due to lack of cash) I was a bit sick of it in the end!
Since then I had a GPZ500S (fun, but it didn't keep me occupied in the garage). I then got hold of an R65, that had sat in a leaky garage for 25 years, great project and it was really satisfying to do, but I was missing riding.
Next I went for a Funduro (nothing BMW about that) found the secondary shaft where it holds the sprocket was shot and that ended up in what was a very challenging full engine rebuild!
Now to the good part, I had a go on a K75 and loved it! I've been lucky and got hold of a tidy 93 K75RT, that's been off the road for a few years - no fuel pressure, but all rubber in the tank is mush, due to old fuel, so should be an easy fix.
Same day, I picked up a very ratty 75, but with a spare engine and a shed load of spares! I'm not doing an advert here, but if anyone is looking for a part, let me know
It's good to be back owning a Proper, BMW again and can't wait to get this on the road, as I'm sure, playing around with the spares will keep my mechanical urges satisfied
