rear brake caliper on front
« on: June 06, 2020, 08:49:33 PM »
1992 K75RT.  I unbolted front calipers to remove wheel for new tire.  Found what I think is a rear caliper on the left front.  The right caliper has normal 2 bolts but the  left caliper has one shoulder bolt like the rear caliper.  I checked the rear caliper to make sure some idiot had not switched them but the rear caliper had its one shoulder bolt as it should.
Question:  should I worry about this?   Brakes seem to work fine.
thanks

If that's the same caliper that was on your moto in July of 2018 when you rode to Denver, what's the payoff in worrying about it now? Compare. ABS inlet and bleed valve locations may differ.

Thanks Laitch, I should have looked closer, the front and rear caliper are different shapes.
Just thought it was weird that the attachment bolts were not the same on both front calipers.

This 92 K75 is a different one, I bought it from a fellow in Louisville, KY.  I have put about a thousand miles on it though and brakes work fine.
I had to replace the tranny and clutch disk after it stripped the splines on I25 in colorado springs.

You aren't afraid to ride them like they were designed to be ridden. More power to you.  112350
