Brick wrenching and riding effectively fills a place
In my life that given the financial resources would include a 911. This interview with entrepreneur Magnus Walker resonates with me. I’ve been following his career on YouTube.
What do I get from pursuit of motorsports in general and Motobrick wrenching/riding specifically:
For me it’s not so much a status thing- it’s wrapped up in the sonorous mechanical sound, the way it was so purposefully engineered the sculpted lines and attention to detail that the Germans do so very well.
I gave up my 930 in 1990 to buy a home and start a family; laudable at the time but something I’ve come to regret as I watch the value of that car appreciate faster than my 401k.
It may come across as trite, whatever, but I get all the same stimulation and satisfaction from the sound smell and riding of my Ks.
Also, the young Kuwaiti interviewer reminds me of my father’s admonitions to follow my passions, my muse etc, And network with people who inspire you. “It’s all about who you know” is my oft spoken summation on this
Anyway, I stumbled across this over coffee today and thought it might interest and stimulate others in the asylum. Sunday coffee makes me wax philosophical, it’s 40 minute, Magnus is a master marketer, there’s probably a nugget in the interview for any of you here.
