Misc. parts sourcing?
« on: February 11, 2018, 01:00:51 PM »
Just ordered more parts for the K75 hoping to get it ready for spring. But I have a hookup on 2 concerns at the moment. First, there is a hose that comes out of the top of the engine block (right behind the radiator). This hose was plugged by a bolt when I found it, and I can't figure out if its supposed to connect to anything. My best guess is that it would be some kind of connection for ABS (this one doesn't have ABS).

Second concern is the master cylinder's filler cap, which is cracked. the boot underneath seems to be fine, but I can't seem to find a place selling the cap by itself. I have seen some of the same filler caps for R80s on ebay, would they be compatible? Are there any options for making my own? I know it sounds like a jerry-rig, but would forming a piece of wood/plastic to fit the screw holes suffice? Anything to save me 95$ on a filler cap would be a great alternative at this point.

The hose is from a tank vent system that was deleted....it should be blocked...the tank now vents to the
atmosphere via spigot under the tank....rear, right.

The brake fluid cover have # 32 72 1 454 944, $14.35 at MaxBmw.
