Output Shaft Swap Question
« on: December 03, 2017, 06:12:16 PM »
BMW 1984 K100 Output shaft DifferencesHistory: rattle at idle… engine removed and onto bench, 6 rivet output shaft (from '84 RT) out – some play / movement at rivets. Have punched rivets back together but have a 12 rivet output shaft (off an '85 and later) I want to use. Have looked online and on the forum(s), but the information seems to fade out and not specifically go through the final stage.Clearly the bearing needs swapping (am ready to transfer bearing across) and has been done by others but no detail of the question below.Question:There are differences in the clearance under the bigger rear bearing.
What happens here – do I use the washer (as on the 1985 and later version) or the cup spring (as on the 1984 version)?

Yeah thanks Laitch.

You'll be pleased to know that I did watch the whole of that bloody cod-piece offering. Must just be the history teacher in me.

Was trying to find pic of Mick Jagger in white track type pants on stage with too much padding - both visually and physically excessive - it was starting to slide down his thigh and assume equine proportions

Scrapbooks probably offer welcome relief from scouring parts fiches and bike-breaker inventories. When the Jagger book is finished, there's always Gene Simmons. :giggles
