Background noise

There's a rattling in the background,  noticeable more on a fast tickover.   I thought it might be the alternator rubber bushes.   I ordered some and got around to replacing them today.  The old ones didn't look that worn but I replaced them anyway.
The noise is still there.  Any ideas?  I'm thinking it might be the water pump bearings but that's just a guess and not an educated guess.

That's probably because I haven't attached anything to listen to.


Should have mentioned ; it's a kind of rumbly noise, like a shagged bearing.

We've got to hear the noise. Attach an audio file or YouTube video. Verbal descriptions are too vague.

Ok, maybe guessing isn't accurate but I was hoping for some advice based on your knowledge and experience.

cut the power to the clock... if the noise stops my advice is that the clock is making the noise..

I was hoping for some expert advice on how to determine what's making the noise and vibration.   In other words:  how do I find out, not what's making the noise.
Your cracks about the clock isn't helping.


Besides, it's a digital clock, not one of those noisy tick-tock ones.

does this vibration occur only when the moto is running...

You've entered Wonderland with that statement.

Start the engine. Take a screwdriver, place an ear on its handle, place its blade  somewhere on the engine then move its blade somewhere else on the engine. Keep doing that until you can tell us where the screwdriver is when the noise is at its loudest. Then make a recording and post it here or on YouTube. :giggles
