K75S ABS action
« on: September 14, 2017, 09:33:17 PM »
Hi all:
I just got the ABS brain from my bike repaired, all is good, no flashing lights, and when locking the rear wheel (not willing to lock the front yet), it pulsates as expected. However, the sound coming from the rear drivetrain when pulsating is quite loud (clunk, clunk, ...) rather than car-like ABS PRRRR). It this normal, or the loud noise comes from excessive play in the splines? I have not reviewed them but the bike has under 20k miles, so it cannot be that loose.

Any reply will be appreciated.

The front will sound and feel the same as the rear.  Its the ABS unit preventing lock-up.

I practice braking by full rear brake at 30mph then 50mph then 70mph then 90mph.  Then do the same with both brakes simultaneously.  The ABS on these bikes will save you when well practiced.

That is normal.  This is a first gen primitive system.

Same here. I do nothing at 90mph except to hold for dear life. Locking the rear wheel is outside my league.
