Hey Guys,

This is my first post here I got my fathers K100RS Last year (Sat wet for 14 years.) I spent a good chunk of the summer fixing and cleaning her up last year and wah-laa she started right up and has since become an incredible bike that I plan to have for the rest of my life.

Ive seen this forum before and most of the times was able to get answers without jumping on, now I think its time to start putting it off and start with a question thats been bugging me ever since I removed the front tire.

My bike seems to have 3 spacers on it (One looks like a dust boot to a bearing which scared me a bit.) now I was just working on a different issue and changed my calipers over the weekend and I regret big time not snapping a clear picture of all three parts then but Im going to link what I do have picture wise.

The first pic is the standard spacer I have seen to the left of most of the wheels

The second shows the two parts that are on the right side of the tire its hard to see but if you look you cna see the gap and that it is definitely not one big piece, Now its important to mention this, When I first took the tire off I must have been in a hurry and all three of the spacers fell on the floor at the same time in the same place, go figure. I messed around with them and this is the only way they fit on without them rubbing on the rotors or having and issues with that.

Now another issue ive had which i believe could be related was when I first got the bike going I had the ABS sensor in and did not alter that at all, to my horror the front brakes for whatever reason would randomly stick at certain times, they would stick to where you couldn't pull the front lever back luckily with enough force they eventually went but it was quite terrifying. I figured a Master cylinder rebuild was inevitable. I brought it to my mechanic and had Spiegler brake lines installed and thought that might solve the problem, didn't even get down the road when it happened again, turned right back around he had an idea, removed the ABS Sensor and zip tied it to the side and just like that I have never had that brake issue again.

He knew the problem I had with the spacers and mentioned this could be related if the spacers werent correct the abs could be activating somehow (I should mention he is not a BMW mechanic specifically.)  So now Im trying to figure out the problem at hand now. Does anyone know how these go in order? Anyone have any similar issues to this?  I looked into how to reset the ABS system and was considering doing so but I am on the fence about it as its been fine without it and I dont want to open a can of worms that I dont have to.

I'm now waiting on new rotor bolts (They all seem to have been stripped) and hopefully next weekend I am going to get her back up and running, I miss riding her and would love any and all feedback, tips, tricks, help you guys can give me.

Thank you!
Ryan
