The go-to guy in the Vaterland for quality aftermarket K-stuff

So in my travels on www.flyingbrick.de I ran across this guy:

I'm looking at a a few things -- like maybe a couple of his aftermarket clutch pushrod seals (get 'em while you can -- they OEM ones are apparently 'not available' in Germany and it's unclear whether they will be in the future) and set of his injectors - there are apparently many many many K-Bikes running with Till's injectors in the old country). I'm also interested in the clutch pack, also preferred over the OEM over there. Till doesn't sell anything that isn't absolutely top notch.

I also ran across a guy who has a mobile classic K-bike service -- he's got a lot of special K-related tools, like a special tool for setting the clutch pushrod seal (affectionately known among K-Bikists as 'the pig, sow, hog or however you want to translate it') which you can read about here:

Well, that's a huge upgrade from the crappy OEM one. Don't like it, don't buy it :-)

No, no. I have done the Spal mod myself. I guess what I was saying is that I like the sort of validation that comes by seeing someone actually market it as a commercial solution.

Ah ha -- sorry -- obviously you got it right. I put a replacement Bosch fan in, probably should have done what you did.

I think technostructural has that fan model, don't you techno? My bike is still on the lift and once I get it down I have to put a couple hundred miles on it to see if the clutch is OK. When I got in there, there was gear oil in the housing -- I did not replace the pushrod seal (that f**king 'pig') before installing the trans from my parts bike onto my rider -- and apparently it was bad. I don't know whether the oil got to the clutch plate but I'm going to ride it and if it slips then I will just do the whole dance again and put in completely new clutch parts from Till.

Anyway, short answer -- I will ask him when I contact him but it won't be in the next couple weeks.

BTW all you newbs -- make sure you have a goddam 'pig' or two lying around and have a plan for how to install them properly -- you're gonna need them.

Thanks.  Nice site.  Maybe it should be put in OEM parts.  Interesting, four hole injectors as a fully acceptable upgrade :2thumbup: .

Yep. It's the 6.5" model, "puller" fan. There is a thread about it here:

Personally, I just took the existing bracket and made a cut in it to widen it by a quarter of an inch or so. I then used rivets to put the Spal fan inside the existing bracket. I had to remove some plastic from the stock Spal bracket and extend the hole for one of the mounting points on the existing K bracket so that the bolts would fit properly. I found this much easier than fabricating a new bracket altogether.

+1 on the Spal fan upgrade.  I did it too, and it was even easier than it looked in the thread.  There is absolutely no reason to use that crap Bosch fan.

Yes seen that method, but my German heritage wants perfection and precision so I am drawn to the aluminum bracket.  I know it is a personality flaw.
