Hi,


I used to own a 1989 K75S which I bough to brand new in Lahr Germany while serving there in the Canadian Army. Sold it in the early 90's. I've just bought an 86 K75S and have been perusing the forum and it looks like a great resource!


Curious on good sources for parts in Canada and USA (for example, want to do cam chain)?

How many miles are on the bike you have just purchased? Please post a few photos of it from your computer by clicking the Attachments and other options link below the reply box then using the Attach feature for the first photo and the (more options) feature beneath it for additional photos. If posting them from your phone, there are applications available online to help with orienting them correctly.  Sizing your photos to around 10 inches and keeping them below 1MB will allow them be posted and viewed more easily.

In the Motobrick Marketplace are suggestions for online parts sources. In the Repair Guidance section, the Alternate Parts List Master Index subsection lists sources of parts that substitute for original equipment. There are other suggestions that crop up in posts throughout the forum.

Cam chain?
I had my concerns around 200,000km so I changed mine.The chain did not need replacing,I suspect .The guides still had some life left but I had replacements.I did imagine it was smoother running.
You might have meant drive splines? :dunno They're worth some attention.

My experience with three bricks has been that my cam chain guides showed hardly any wear, even at 110,000 miles.  I replaced a slightly worn chain at that mileage,  but probably could have left it in place as it had almost no signs of stretch.   

If you have to replace the chain and guides, Motobins in the U.K. has a good deal on the parts.
