'93 K1100RS upper fairing Support tweeked,... Fix it?
« on: July 25, 2016, 10:44:15 AM »
Posted this on the body work, but might do better on the Frame board?
Is there info on straightening the tubing that bolts to the frame headstock for support of the upper fairing? I can't be the only one here with Tip-Over-Tweeked upper fairing mount.  The mirrors have taken a lot of abuse, and transferred the force to that support, which has bent to the side, .....I think. I want to find data on how the measure the distances that were engineered from the factory. 4 fairing mounting points to some frame reference I would guess.  Anyone done this?

KC the only thing I can think of is to check the measurement of the side that it did not fall on. Try and see If duplicating these would correct the alignment. You could be faced with a bit of trial and error refit the fairing and see if the tweak has worked. If not tweak a bit more, keep doing it until it is right. The alternate is to find another bike to take measurements off or a friendly Bricker to take measurements of his bike.
