Hi:
I am posting this for those, who like me, do not have tow service contracted with your AAA/ Insurance/ etc. You probably want to get one.
In any case, my K75 went dead at 70 mph after going over railroad tracks not too gently. Tried restarting, but it was obvious that was not going to happen. It did not seem fuel, as the thing died suddenly. Pulled into a church parking lot and starting to diagnose under the scrutinizing eyes of my wife; after 40+ years of wrenching with cars & bikes, it was bound to happen.
Connected and disconnected the fuel pump plug, but I could hear the pump running with the starter running, so that was not it. It was spark. Took the coil cover plastic, but there was nothing obvious there, plus all connections are triple, so any loose wire there would cause a misfire, not a sudden death.
I started removing the ECU plug, to get to the fuse block, etc, and noticed that the plug came off very easily. Decided to plug it again and give it a try: it started right away.
So, moral of the story: check that plug here and there.
Happy riding.
