Fuel injector foam protection
« on: February 22, 2016, 11:12:06 AM »
1985 k100RS There is a long rectangular foam cover on the outside of my fuel injectors. It has deteriorated. Does anyone know a generic replacement for the foam protector, or a solution to fixing it?

Interesting, I guess I've never heard of the injector rail being insulated from the factory.
I've generally uses some split foam water pipe insulation from the local home improvement store. It would be obviously thicker than what you have there, but it would serve the purpose.

My RT had the crusty foam and I removed it. Not an RT anymore though.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I appreciate it. I might just go without it.
Now back to the paint job!

On a side note-looks like the fuel line is cracked.
