Make very sure that you got that cockamamie wire dohickey hooked up properly on the stud on the back of the mirror.
I had a new piece of convex glass cut for mine(didn't get as good a deal as you did, cost me $18), and two days later had the damn thing fall out at 11o'clock at night while I was doing 70+. Needless to say, there was absolutely no hope of finding it.
