Project sh!#*ng bricks!
« on: December 24, 2015, 10:35:35 PM »
Here is my newly acquired 85 which I am the proud second owner. The goal for this bike is to build an attractive, cafeish looking turbo brick all while staying within a 2k budget which cover parts and cost of bike.So far I removed items no longer going back in it as well as cut the rear frame and retained the factory handle bars just modified them. The seat ended up getting modified as well and so far I am really happy with it so I think ill keep the seat for now. Got the paint for it already it will be painted black and the fairings will be gregio telesto grey and will be sending out the wheels and engine covers to powder coat in the following weeks.

A turbo Cafe K-bike then right? There will be people here wanting to lynch you for that...
I'm just hoping you don't make it to shiny as it sound like the ultimate 2 fingers to the world!
I like the basic look allready, and man, do i wish i had turbo's just laying around....

I was trying to reframe from the basic go to cafe racer look, but the bike in stock form to me is pretty ugly. So I'm trying to do it a little suttle, not too crazy  but im sure lots of people won't like it, but that's ok cause it's my bike and all that matters is that I'm happy with the outcome. I like the naked bike look originally I was gonna go with a ducati but I could not pass up this deal, plus having owned over 14 bmws already I felt it was only right to have a bmw bike.

Once you've had a taste of the boost, it's a neverending quest for more power.

The set up you see in the picture is my 95 m3 s50 turbo. Currently it is being finished and looking to make 650-700whp on e85. Car is being built as a time attack car/dropping off my boys at school and than going to get some starbucks drive thru car. Had it done before made 521whp on 15psi. Started having issues with the ecu and swapped it out with a megasquirt.  Also own an s50 swapped e30 and a m54 swapped e46 wagon. Oh and a focus st. Haha

The other car facing mine belongs to my best friend/business partner. 98 sedan m3 with a 6 point cage.In the end it will be a 900-1000whp weekend shop car. This is the quality of fabrication and craziness we will be incorporating over to  the flying brick. So hope to make some of you guys proud with my bike, and not just be seeing as some other cafe shit box.

More than interested in seeing what turbo you will use along with the implementation.

MS experience already will obviously stand you in good stead.

I want to go MS and then turbo on my '85 naked.

Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. IMO - if you start out with a beater, a cafe project shouldn't offend anyone. However, it does seem a shame when somebody hacks a clean low-mileage bike.

It's your bike. Do what you like and have fun with it.

Thanks scud. Yeah mine although complete does need a lot of cosmetic work to bring it back to even normal. The engine and drivetrain is in excellent condition though. Whatever parts I have left over I want to donate to anyone who can reuse them and could help them complete their  brick. So I will be posting certain items soon.

That's awesome man. I have another e30 that we are gonna build as a road race track car. It's a 90 coupe e30 and we are gonna be doing an 95 rx7 13b semi pp swap. Gonna start on that right after I finish the bike.
