Temperature Guage
« on: August 04, 2015, 08:52:26 PM »
Again, I'm brand new to this bike, K1100 LT. I noticed that when you're rolling down the road at highway speed, the temperature runs just below half. That seems good. But if I'm riding around in town, stop and go 20 to 30 mph, air temperature in the upper 80's to low 90's, or sitting in traffic or at construction, it will run up to between the 3/4 mark and the first red zone that has the lines in it. At that point the fan kicks on and it cools itself down. That just seemed a little high for the fan to finally kick in, but it does it consistently, and it always cools itself off. Does that sound normal?

All is good :riding: You might want to install manual fan switch to avoid letting it get that hot when in traffic. The search box is your friend

Thanks. I had seen some people putting on manual switches, I'll check that out. I spend a lot of time at ADVRider, and am not used to a functioning search feature :-)
