K75 dual intensity LEDs for turn signals/running/brake
« on: June 04, 2015, 09:39:26 PM »
The issue -- no one manufactures dual intensity sealed trailer LEDs that can be used for sidecar signal lighting. The signal lighting cans on my ancient Friendship II sidecar are toast. The only LEDs that come close to fitting the sidecar are single-intensity. Nobody seems to make incandescent dual intensity anymore either.

I found this YouTube describing how to create a simple circuit that will make single-intensity LEDs function as dual intensity by feeding both brake and running or signal and brake into the + port of a single intensity LED.

Can anyone tell me if this would work and what any potential issues might be, and whether any mods to depicted circuit would be required for the K75?

If this info is already up in the Lieberry or in a previous post I didn't see it -- if I missed something I'd appreciate a pointer.

Thanks for any help...
