FREE 86 K75C transimission to give away
« on: February 20, 2015, 10:49:06 AM »
Sloppy second gear. I swapped the unit out for a K1100 trans. Anyone want this thing? Free but you'll have pay shipping and I'll help with that too; probably $30 to just about anywhere any more than that I'll pay it. I had considered opening it up as a project to get familiar and repair but circumstances dictate I won't have the time or workspace to do it. Just thought I'd put it out there to a brickhead before it makes its way to the salvage yard.

If no one else wants it I could use the gear selector shaft. Snapped mine and it's $150.00 for a new one from BMW.  :yow

Currently have Mongrel's spare tranny in there.

It should still be in your messages, but not if you've 'cleaned house'.

Yup, showed up sometime on Friday. I've been so busy I didn't crack the box open until late yesterday afternoon,

Just curious, what was sloppy about 2nd?

Maybe sloppy wasn't the most appropriate term. When I was driving around on the bike, it was a b!tch to shift into 2nd. A lot of clunking and grinding. If it did go into 2nd, I would go half a block and it would make a fuss again and either fall out to a false neutral or I'd just put it in 3rd. The other gears seemed fine, I reasoned it was problem with the number 2 gear but I guess it could have been a shifting fork or spring or a shim or gear wheel? I did my best to try to replicate the symptoms in other gears but no, only #2 gave me grief.
