thanks for the quick reply... I was thinking that it should be some type of safety mirror.. laminated perhaps?

Nope, not really. Standard mirror glass is all it is on these bikes. On your car is another story.....

I haven't gone to get a new glass cut yet, but need to replace the glass in one of my mirrors that has a replacement glass that is flat and doesn't have the optics of the other side.

Is there a special glass I need to ask for, or a special place I need to go to have one cut?  Would like to get it done before the riding season as the present optics of the mirror are really annoying.

Are you looking for plain mirror, or are you wanting the "objects are closer than they appear" effect..... type of glass.
I have the plain flat glass, for extra wide coverage I added some stick-on 1-1/2" round adjustable convex mirrors up in the corner of the mirror.

The OEM glass has a slight convex that gives a little wider field of view.  The replacement glass is flat and the field of view is noticeably narrower.  Of the four mirrors on my bikes this is the only one like that, and I find the field of view annoying.

I would like to get a glass that matches the others, without taking it up the butt at the dealer.  Don't need the entire housing either, which is all I ever see on ePrey.

Didn't realize that autoglass shops could cut these mirrors.  Might have to check them out.

RE: "Fisheye" mirrors.  For some reason, I have problems deciphering the actual relationship of the objects to my position, and I feel uncomfortable in making decisions based on what I see in them.  Also, at my age, it is getting harder to make out exactly what I'm seeing in a 1 1/2" dia. mirror.

I have a K1100 and have difficulty seeing in back of me with the LT mirrors (but I have a perfect view of my shoulders). Has anyone supplemented them with handlebar mirror(s)?
Also, I too need a new mirror glass on the right. Can a glass shop cut a similar mirror 'wide angle' as the stock? I priced them at a stealer and they are $45.oo each just for the glass.
I broke it because I wanted to fix the constant droop. It would droop down shortly after each time I adjusted it.
So I decided to take the glass off to fix the mechanism...it didn't work out the way I hoped.
Any thouhts would be appreciated.
