Since upgrading to a 50A alternator I'm thinking about adding a supplemental fuse block that I can connect a USB or Powerlet plug for GPS on my bars and maybe a secondary BMW plug for heated clothing. What setups are people running ?

Hey rmb, where does one install that fuse block? Is there a standard approach to weatherproofing it, or does it just need to be located away from the elements?

It can be mounted within the relay box itself if there are no other aftermarket parts installed in that location (eg. headlight relays).  Otherwise, it could be mounted within the tool box under the seat or within the tail section, both areas being out of the elements.  If you need to mount it in a more exposed position like on the outside of the relay box, then find a suitable plastic box in which to mount it.
