Plastic end caps on the engine guards

Does anyone know how to remove the plastic caps used on the engine guards without destroying them? That would be number10 in the diagram.
I have a 1995 K75
Do does the engine guard have to be removed to adjust the valves. In other words is the valve cover in the way?

I've just put a workshop towel around the edges and carefully grabbed it with a pair of pliers and pulled it out.

As far as requiring to have it off? can't specifically say about a 75.
I know that on my 1100's it has to come off to get my side panel off.

I couldn't figure mine out a few months back but I found that the caps moved slightly so I did the towel and pliers trick and was able to turn then 90 degrees. Then it was just a wobble to and fro to get them out.

As mentioned, you just pry them out.  they are only held by friction.
I can also speak to the question re removal to get the valves cover off:  No you do not need to remove them.  If you have a RT model the left lower will need to come off and the guard runs through the lowers so that is a bit awkward but not insurmountable.  Just let the lower hang from the guard.
