Should i start shopping for a fuel tank?
« on: September 15, 2014, 01:18:52 PM »
it's a 94 k75s
not leaking now, but it looks like it is on it's way to developing one. i use the bike for weekend trips and touring, and don't want to have to worry about a potential leak waiting to happen.

i've taken all the necessary steps to prevent further corrosion.

being a newbie i am unlearned in what is "acceptable" or not.

thx

if it's not weeping through yet you're probably ok.  What I'd do is empty the tank, clean up the corrosion a little and put some Permatex gas tank sealer over it.  I used the stuff on the outside of my tank after it corroded through and it's held up for years.
