Please identify their purpose

I'm pretty sure these holder straps go under the seat at the front rear fender bracket. What is their purpose? And is there a specific orientation?
I have just completed rebuilding the rear brake caliper and am putting the bike together and can't remember how or to what they were attached to.
Thanks in advance

They are the tool strap holders that hold the BMW tool roll. They install under the seat using the bracket that holds on the rear inner fender.

Helmet locking straps is what I use them for.

Thanks for the responses. I have the tool kit stuffed in the rear cowl presently so may look into utilizing them to put tire repair kit and compressor in the cowl

Interesting, were never present on my 1990 K75RT and I bought the bike new in 1990from dealer so unless they removed before delivery, they were not on my bike.
