93 K75 stalling on throttle roll on
« on: May 01, 2014, 07:57:01 AM »
Hey guys, hit a snag the other day, bike stalled out when I pulled in clutch at low speed. Bike woul not start without fuel pump unplugged. I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator yesterday, now my snag is I can get the bike started, but cannot open the throttle at all without stalling the bike again, thoughts suggestions? your input is always much appreciated.

Sounds like a major intake leak, I'll guess you have disturbed the hose between the airfilter housing and plenum chamber while changing the FPR. Check the hose and its connections.

ill do that, I had to put old air filter in as I ordered one from dealer, still waiting. I noticed i'm missing forward clip on intake chamber, maybe that's preventing a good seal on intake (before plenum)
I'm pretty sure hose to plenum is snug and secure, but between filter and air meter may be leaks into the chambe (around airmeter?)

do you know what's responsible for air and spark when throttle is partway open? I know TPS does open and closed, but i'm looking for what to check on for between those two points.

I can twist the throttle the slightest bit, it increases in rpm and open it any more and it just bogs down, maybe suffocate sounding? I am assuming spark is good, because its been starting and running up till yesterday, now starts and idles fine, which would lead me to believe its AIR or FUEL

Are you sure you connected the hoses properly?

The air filter is not any more clogged than when the bike was last working, is it?

Did you install a brand new OEM FPR?

the air filter should be less clogged, I tapped as much dirt out of it as I could. The gasket around it is in rough shape, so I could easily see an air leak possible, and my front clip to airbox is missing, (preventing great seal) but its operated that way for the past month with no issue

and yes, although that pic is sideways compared to mine in bracket, so fuel return in bracket comes out of top, intake from the rear and vacuum line from underneath

Air leaks prior to the air flow sensor shouldn't affect engine performance, but you'll want the sealed up to keep the air clean.

as I said air filter gasket looked rough, so i just tried to rev bike while holding airbox tight. I got it to rev without stalling, but it's really rough, some faint knocking heard in engine. is this still an air issue? perhaps something else?
