Hi guys:
Just got through doing this on my naked '85 K.
To read the manuals, you must remove the gas tank to get at the relay box and all the steps involved in that...
I just unbolted the rear bracket backed the tank out a bit (rearward) and lifted it and propped the bracket on the edge of the seat (w/a rag between) that I left opened to get at the fuse/relay box.
While I don't have the fairings - whatever needs to be taken off on the left side to allow you to move the tank a bit to the left will do it.
Damn service manuals are written by people who want people to believe they have to spend a lot of money on labor if they aren't willing to do it themselves!
Just wanted to let people know it sometimes isn't as complicated as others would have you believe.
Pallum's and Duck's directions are great.
Since I am by no means someone used to working with anything but bullet and Deutsch connectors, it took me a few minutes to figure out to use a small jeweler's flat blade screwdriver slipped into the connector on the flat side and pull the wire from the back to get them out of it.
If I can save anyone some time or lessen what seems to be a daunting task, I will consider this post worthwhile.
