91 K100 modification question
« on: May 18, 2011, 11:00:17 PM »

http://www.mr-motorcycle.com/pre_owned_detail.asp?sid=03869898X5K18K2011J9I43I03JPMQ2664R0&veh=2107270

I searched for bikes in my area to go look at and located this 91 K100 at a Honda dealer. There are photographs in the link and I was wondering if this is a modified bike as the Tupperware doesn't appear proper for the 91 model year. Other than that it looks nice in the photos, but prior to looking at it in person I wanted to be sure if I was dealing with something "OEM" or try to determine possible crash damage/owner modification.

TIA

Hmmm....  that certainly is an odd bird.

The fairing and luggage are most definitely non-OEM stuff but aside from that it looks like a nice clean low mile specimen.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm going to check it out next week and see what I can learn about her history. I've ridden all over the country on a Guzzi so I guess something different appeals to my warped DNA.  ;D

At 30k it's barely broken in so you don't have to worry if the splines have ever been lubed.

I'd certainly dicker on the $4k asking price though.

I checked the bike out and passed on it. It is an interesting mix of extremely clean and unmolested bike meets "Rube Goldberg". The salesman was more hurtful to any sale than the bike itself so it was a situations of too many red flags and too little knowledge on my part and no answers to my questions on their part.

Anyhoo, it could be a real diamond in the rough, but I'll keep looking.

Thanks again for your input.

Cheers

Thanks for the update.

"There's plenty of fish in the sea." so I'm sure you'll come across something else.
