Great bike and model. Wow - all fluids were drained?
I restored a 85 K100RS which was sitting in an Iowa barn for perhaps eight years. From memory here's what I did..
Get the Clymer Manual!!! :deal:
- Replaced all fluids, engine oil, trans oil, final drive oil, coolant, flushed brakes.
Replaced fuel filter, rubber damper that the fuel pump rests in and the initial filter below the pump...also replaced the in tank hoses.
Replaced Tires
Replaced front fork oil
Replaced radiator hoses
Replaced battery
Replaced brake lines with the braided SS lines available on the aftermarket
Lubed the input and final drive splines
I also had a problem with the Sprag Clutch, which is known is malfunction if it gets the slightest bit dirty or corroded. Separate post for that.
Good luck! All of the above is perhaps a couple of days work if you have the parts.
