Hey guys,

after having broken my righthand sidecase of my k75RT I have bought me some new old ones. Only problem is that there is a lock broken on it. I'd like to exchange this lock from my old left case I still have. Yet I don't really know is it would fit. It is the bottom front lock locking the case to the motorbike.

How should I do it?

thank you

Otto

Drill the rivets' backs off from the inside.

Or just pry it off with a screwdriver. It's just riveted on and should come off pretty easily.

Speaking of locks, what would you recommend as lubricant for the latches. Some of mine stick.

Silicone spray stuff.  Doesn't pick up as much dust as other lubricants.

I suggest Dri-Slide.  It's moly suspended in a solvent.  It will flow into places, dry and stick to moving parts without attracting or holding dirt.  Look for it in bike (as in bicycle) shops.

I suggest Dri-Slide.

I use this stuff as well for a variety of jobs including latches.  The carrier evaporate quick enough to not attract unwanted debris, but slow enough to penetrate the mechanisms being lubed.  It will stain like crazy though, so try not to get it on anything you don't want a lovely shade of gray.

Seems harder to find these days, but found some online at this place most recently:
