Adding a powerlet to the dash pad - K75C
« on: February 06, 2013, 12:43:29 PM »
I'd like to have a powerlet / outlet near the front of my '87 K75C to power a GPS.  How hard is it to add a powerlet to the OEM pad?

Or, would it be better to simply find a used one to install?  If I go that route, would this one fit?  Or, does anyone have one for sale?

Here's what on the bike now (sorry for the poor pic - the bike is 700 miles away until I get back to NoVA to ride it home...)

Best/easiest to use the square dash pad that has the Powerlet socket in it from the factory.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

I like the two prong SAE/Trailer connectors. Cheap and easy.

I've seen some cigarette lighter mounts that go on the handlebar. Not stock, but would work well.
