Weight of K100RS4v Engine & Tranny
« on: February 06, 2013, 11:36:25 AM »
I have purchased a 40K engine/tranny from a '81 K100 that comes with the stands attached, no starter or alternator, but plenum, injectors and TB's.

I've looked and haven't found info on this.

Can anyone give an approximate weight for the engine/tranny combo?

I'm going to pick it up this weekend and want to figure my options on transporting.

I'm thinking around 250 lbs - am I far off?

I don't think it's that much. I'd guess more like 150-180.

A trans by itself weighs a little less than 35 pounds.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Kewl - Shouldn't have any problems putting it in the trunk of my Lincoln Town Car then.

Shoot - I could probably do it all by myself...I KNOW I could have at 35, but this is 23 years later...

It will be a lot more manageable if you take the center stand and trans off.

No doubt!

I'll take tools w/me, but if he doesn't have the time to let me I'll just put the whole kaboodle in the truck and get a friend to help unload it - don't need back problems at my age...
