Crash bar question
« on: December 24, 2012, 10:52:02 PM »
The smaller style crash bar, are they the same part number that's used on both the K100 and K75's?

Seems like I've read where they're the same but I need to be set straight. thanks

To start with, calling them "crash bars" is a misnomer.  Since they have rubber mountings they will tear right off in a getoff with any speed involved so a more appropriate name for them would be "parking lot tipover bars."

And no, they are not the same part for K75s and K100s. K75s have the front cylinder lopped off so they have a different frame/engine geometry than K100s.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

I'm not a complete idiot. I know the two bikes have different motors but read somewhere that the bars would mount, thanks for clearing that up. I also knew that they were more of a foot rest (which is really what I want) than actual crash bars, just couldn't think of a more colorful name.
