BG 44K for my K
« on: September 06, 2012, 12:08:47 AM »
My BMW M3 E-36 automobile likes BG 44K.  Would a little be good for my 1990 K75S?

BG 44K and Chevron Techron are the same thing, the 44K is just a higher concentration. I used to sell BG Products when I was working in an auto parts store while going thru college.  It is perfectly safe to use in the bike, I would caution against using a whole can probably somewhere in the order of 1/4 of the can per tank. Also I don't know if they still have the recommendation on the can to change the oil after running a treated tank through the engine. It does speed up the break down of the oil.

recommended dose is 1 can (10 oz) to roughly 20 gal.no recomendation of changing oil after use.distributor has used product straight to get him to gas station after running out of gas with no damage to fuel pump.ran a little sluggish though!!!

Doesn't the modern gas have detergents added already? Yes I agree with changing the oil after using any type of injector cleaner.

So if the Chevron and BG are the same stuff whats the better deal.  I would love to save a few buck but always like to go first class.

I thought Chevron used to have MEK in it and was great! Now they changed the
formula. I don't see it on the BG 44 MSDS. I thought Redline had some fuel system
cleaner that was the best for the money these days. Most of them use naphtha to
clean as the good stuff is outlawed...
