Since I'm going to be in there anyway...
« on: August 24, 2012, 08:37:09 PM »
Evening All,
I discovered a crack in the fuel feed line (at least I think it's the feed line, it's the one one the front of the rail) causing a tiny tiny leak (just enough to see that the line is damp) when the bike is cold then it expands and seals itself when it warms up. So I ordered some new hose that I found on sale from an auto parts site that was listed for the 318i, but it's the same hose.

So anyway, I figured since I have to pull the fairing anyway, I'd clean the air filter, sync the throttle bodies, and replace ALL the fuel lines. I'm also considering upgrading the fuel injectors to the green and silver 4-pintle ones on Fleabay.

The bike is running fairly well, but can anyone else think of any other general maintenance stuff I should do while I'm in there? Thanks

Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing.

Check your crankcase breather hose.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Check your crankcase breather hose.

Any of the rubber hoses/o-rings that possibly could still be original.
Cooling system hoses, rad cap gaskets(there are 2 inisde the cap), the rubber tubes under the throttle bodies, etc...... you get the idea.

Check them all.
