Best solution or home brew for degreasing rubber
« on: July 26, 2012, 09:59:02 PM »
Sometimes it's impossible I find to completely degrease rubber without using a solution that compromises it. Has anyone out there got a fail safe, goto rubber cleaner?

I'd think that Brakleen wouldn't be too bad if you can use it on your calipers and not harm the rubber seals and boots there.

Buy new rubber.  20 year old rubber is 20 year old rubber.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

I'm talking new rubber covered with gear oil and white lithium grease - I got rid of any old rubber - GUNK it?

I just use household dishwashing detergent and water after a degreaser, comes up clean and dry.
