Alternator Compatibility

Got offered a 50 amp alternator from a R1150RT. The numbers on the tag match and it looks like if I replace the pulley with a cup it will fit. Anyone know of this observation is correct?

Checked the BMW part numbers and the alternator is the same. Think I'll just buy a new cup and upgrade.
Price for a used R1100/R1150 alternator is a heck of a lot less than a K1100
