Hi all,
more so
Im new to bmw k's, ive had the boxer engine in an r1100rt and a r1100gs, i have a 2005 harley and have owned most sport bikes and maxi scoots. I bought my k as my dad said they were good bikes, I love rough tatty old bm's not restored show pieces. Mine is the earlier, it has 114,500 miles on it and rides like a jap bike with about 10k on it AMAZING! the abs works as do all the electrics, i can go down to 20mph ish in top gear and the engine does not idle, i can do 80 with out any buffeting (rt Model) i can wear an open face lid and drink a cup of tea in my thermos cup and rest it in the top left glove box (very important for a tea loving brit!) this bike is almost perfect, it only cost me 580 gbp yes it tatty (pic will follow) but i already am very attached to it. Does any one have any ideas how to diffuse the incredible engine heat ommited from the engine? i have to sometimes have my legs akimbo to "cool down" you boys in the states must suffer more so than us here in a less temperate great Britain.
I'm very pleased with my flying brick and intend to treat it to a good service as it came with no history. Any advice or pointers would be greatly recieved from you seasoned flying brick owners and for this i say thanks in advance. :2thumbup:

I put chunks of dry ice in the tank on hot summer days.  Since it sublimates from a solid directly to a gas it doesn't mess up the gasoline.

Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Welcome neo, try the dry ice trick at your own risk. Duck forgot his usual disclaimer. :deal: The link to the johnny blanket is legit though. Johnny has an upgraded model he's testing now and I'm sure he'll be along to tell you all about it, if you can understand his language.

Post up your K pictures right here. As many as you'd like. We like pictures here. cool shades

And just wait until you see the soon to be released "franken-blanken."  (Seriously. I should be posting about it in the next couple of weeks.)
