Hello everyone, I'm a new K-Bike owner, and a new motorcycle owner altogether. I've only been riding for less than a year and previously had a 1967 Yamaha Bonanza 180. It was fun to learn on, but topped out around 35MPH and wouldn't even get me to work. So, I sold it and went looking around for something safe and reliable, and I believe I found it in my 1990 K75. I bought a used one for $1800 and it came with a thorough inspection list of items that needed to be fixed... and ~115k on the ticker. It ran reliably but it needed some work. The miles were previously wracked up by a long daily commuter going up and down the freeway from the North Bay area down into San Rafael.

I want to learn to do a lot of the maintenance and fixes myself, and I've been going over these forums like crazy since I bought it. But I left these initial big fixes to a professional so it would be up to speed and then I would maintain it from there. The big fixes were: replaced clutch disk, full spline lube, replace drive shaft(was found to be shot when it was opened up), and a bunch of gaskets and seals replaced throughout. I'm not much of a gear head and have only done small repairs on my previous Jeep Wrangler, but I picked up a Clymers manual and have been searching all over these forums.
Just wanted to say hello, and thank you for all the outstanding knowledge and experience shared here.
Took it out for my first "longer" ride today other than just running errands, and did a little bit of a ride report. It was short, so I figured I would just include it here.
