Shinko 230 Tour Masters. Shinko 712's as a 2nd choice. I prefer the Tour Master as they last longer. I got about 12k out of a rear versus 6k for a 712. TimTyler thinks the 712 handles better but I think they're about the same. Handle great, great in rain, ride fine, and they're cheap. A great tire that just happens to be cheap.

Shinko Tourmasters.  Way less than $200 a set, they handle well wet or dry.

I get well over 9,500 miles on the rear and 15,000 on the front.

I'm happy with my Michelin Pilot Activs. Got over 8,000 miles on the rear with several thousand left in it. Great handling from 30 to 95 degrees, wet or dry.

A few days ago my front tire went flat due to a bad Schraeder valve. Even at 75 mph, I knew something was odd, but there were no surprises in the handling. I figure I rode about 5 miles on a flat front tire and didn't realize how bad it was until I exited the interstate.  :mbird

Another vote for Shinko Tourmasters. Affordable, long life great traction even on wet roads. My buddy with a V Max has tried them all over the years and always goes back to Shinkos. Last he tried a fancy Continental. When he gassed it the tire would spin and smoke. The shinko would pull the front tire.
