Clever and simple modification of slip joint pliers which are normally a total abomination but with this easy mod, transformed into an ingenious tool.

DIY ring pliers would be an excellent rainy day project ____________________.

Busy fabricating "scuff guards" for my Jesse bags on the GS this afternoon.

Ended up using guitar amplifier hard plastic corner protectors along with a section of 1'X1"aluminum angle stock.

LineX treatment or black powdercoat, polished stainless steel Allen bolts for retention & cosmetic image factor.   Akin to the Touratech Zega line pictured below.Only difference is, TT bumpers are fancy contoured. Plus, there are smaller bumpers mounted on the lids.

DIY guards actually look pretty good in current mockup. Bungee anchors are in the same location, K 75 spark plug cover on each lid to use as a handle.  I'll shoot some jpgs once complete.

Tad of a NW breeze running around picking up the hardware. Ha, NO splitting lanes with a length of stock hogging up the entire lane homeward. Semi freaked me, as one had to very aware. Ha, felt like I was roadside in Vietnam.
