K75S Fuel Hose Question
« on: February 23, 2012, 12:07:12 AM »
Hey guys,

I've got a leaking fuel hose on my 87 K75S. It's the hose leading from the end of the fuel injection rail back to the engine (see pic below).

2 questions.

1) Do I need to buy the BMW specific hose or can I use hose from the auto parts store?

2) If I do need the BMW specific hose, is it item #2 in the first microfiche below (PN 13311461096) or #10 in the second (PN 13311461011)

microfiche 1: http://www.ascycles.com/Illustrated_catalog2/MicroImage.aspx?ImageFileName=\ETK_Grafik\dbvis6216044590383539551.bin&width=550&height=400

Thanks!

There's no reason why you can't buy something generic.   However, make sure that's it's rated for a pressurized fuel-injected system. It will be marked on the fuel line and will cost lots more per foot.

Thanks, Duck. I replaced the lines yesterday with generic FI hose following your instructions here

http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/topic,1042.0.html

I couldn't remove the fuel pressure regulator, however, as one of the two machine screws securing it to the throttle body assembly was inaccessible - the screw was physically blocked by the nipple on the regulator that the hose from the fuel rail line attaches to. Is there anyway to move the fuel pressure regulator out of the way to access that screw. I'm sorry I don't have a pic . . . should have snapped one.

Thanks for your help and for this amazing forum!

Remove the nut that holds the FPR to it's bracket.
