I have a Corbin on my recently acquired '88 k75C.  I'm the third owner, the orig. owner was a woman and I think she put a "lower seat"  than factory.  Do you have a pic of the seat and any idea of the height?  Thanks

This is a factory standard, not a "low" seat like so many of the K75's seem to have.  If your bike currently has a factory "low" seat, you'll need some additional bits to make this work.  frankenduck or others on the list will know more than I do about converting from a low seat to a standard seat.

Questions?
Tom

Not necessarily, Corbin did make low seats for a short time back in the day.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Just to add my $2 worth - not sure how Motodude can tell by those pics that it a standard seat - as opposed to the comfort model.

I have 2 standard K75's with factory low seats - and also a K75S with a standard seat.

The 2 are not interchangable, really - the comfort has a deeper side pan to help cover the "not fitted" side panels.

The comford seat is also shorter - as it also uses a "rubber" bolt-on pad at the back of the tank, that also doubles as knee pads. This means the seat itself needs to be shorter to incorporate this pad.

I just made the mistake of buying a brand new (old stock) standard seat - no way will it replace the comfort seat - which is what I wanted to do - also the standard seat hinges open on the RHS - whereas the comfort model unclips and removes completely. I thought a K75 seat would fit BOTH models - seems I was wrong!!

Mike

I'm confused.

This is not a "low" seat.  I know nothing about K75 low seats.  I will never know (nor will I care) anything about them as they're too short for me.  I wish fewer K75s had them as I'd like to purchase another one (K75).

Disregarding the factory "low" seat, all the other seats I've seen:
  • Use the same pan (with the exception of the Corbins.
  • [Use the same hinges
  • [Use the same latch
  • [Are completely interchangeable.  Even johnny's old Russel, which I believe was on an 1100, fits my K75 perfectly

Based on what I've seen and what others have told me, this seat--which I still have if anyone is interested--is a standard (not low) factory "comfort" model.  Fits model years from '86 on.

Seat was sold quite a while ago.  My bad for not updating this thread sooner.

Thanks for the forum making this possible,
