Workaround for failed headlight high beam switch
« on: January 21, 2012, 07:05:32 PM »
If your high beam switch doesn't work but your low beam switch position still does then you can add a relay that will make your high beam come on when your low beam goes off.

You'll need a five pin relay that has a normally closed "87a" pin on it.  Wire it up as follows:

Pin 85 - Ground
Pin 86 - Low beam wire (yellow)
Pin 30 - Switched and fused 12V power
Pin 87a - High beam wire (white)

If your high beam works but not the low:

Pin 85 - Ground
Pin 86 - High beam wire (white)
Pin 30 - Switch and fused 12V power
Pin 87a - Low beam wire (yellow)
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.
