Another K75 Tire Question
« on: March 06, 2026, 12:07:58 PM »
I've done the search but not finding recent info. I'd really like to get a dual sport tire for my 92 K75, and the references I saw were for the Continental Trail Attack 3 but I can't find it in an 18" front. I had a similar problem trying to source the Shinko 705. The bike currently has a Dunlop D404 on the rear that looks brand new but has a 2010 mfg date (Front is toast). I'm thinking new D404's front and back but would love to hear how others have approached this.

American Moto Tire has been my tire vendor for the last 12 years. When going for tubeless dual sports sometimes it's necessary to get slightly different widths or aspect ratios other than stock. I use Continental TKC 70 tires on my K75 three spoke rims because I'm on gravel every day up here and they track somewhat better than road tires. They make some noise on pavement but they're good in the rain and their affect on fuel mileage isn't troubling. The front is 110/80-18;the rear is 130/80-17. It's unlikely you'll find a 18" front Trail Attack narrower than 120. Shinko selections are limited and Kendas aren't in stock. Radials narrow your choices further.

I mount the tires on the rims myself. A small difference in sidewall height or width doesn't seem to affect the effort to mount them.

Thanks. I see the front in a 110/80 18 but the rear is a 140/80 17. It looks like there's plenty of room to go from a 130 to a 140 as long as they run true to measurement. And I pulled the trigger!

BTW, the TKC70 tires fit nicely and felt good on my one ride since I put them on.
