K75 No Fuel On Cyl #2 & #3
« on: December 20, 2024, 02:56:00 PM »
So, the bike barely idles, and seems to only be getting fuel to cylinder 2 and 3, as when I unplug those injectors, the bike's idle doesn't change, but if I unplug cylinder 1's injector, the bike immediately dies.

Have any of you dealt with this issue before?

Was the engine running properly before you noticed this problem?  Or is this a "new" bike and this is how it runs?

Since all the injectors are operated at the same time, the fact that two of them appear to not be fueling may indicate they are not opening or not flowing fuel when they are open.  Plugged or sticky injectors aren't a sudden problem, but may be the result of letting the bike sit with old fuel for several years.

Have you done a tune up or disconnected the spark plugs lately?  You would not be the first person to cross the wires for the #2 and #3 spark plugs.  The mistake comes because the #3 wire is longer than the #2 wire so it can be folded back.  I know this is a problem because this guy who works on my bikes in my garage crossed those wires several years ago.  The engine will start and idle very roughly, but that is about all it will do.

The way you described it, sounds like your bike is currently running on only cyl. 1.  Cyl 2 and 3 arent getting fuel as the injector removal on 1 kills the bike.
Sounds like clogged or defected injectors to me.
To get through the bottom of the issue id advice to take the following steps.
First start by checking all 3 sparkplugs and see if they're damp. Not wet, not moist, not dry, just damp. And clean them while you're at it. Never hurts.
Then check your coils. Disconnect the power to the fuel tank. Connect your coil cables to the sparkplugs (removed from the cylinder head) and hold them on metal like the frame and try staring the bike. Just a single turnover of maybe 2. Do not touch the plug cause it tends to hurt.
If all is well, connect as stated on the ignition coils.
Then remove fuel rail as a whole with all 3 injectors on it, get a piece of cardboard and let your injectors rest on it.
Reconnect the power to the fuel tank and turn the bike on,
Yet again try to start it and you should expect 3 equal squirt patterns.
If any of these fail you ll have your problem found.
I personally think your injector(s) are clogged or defected but always start checking the cheaper fixes first.
If your injectors fail to squirt, check the electrical connectors with a multi meter, if you measure current (9 or 12v from the top of my head). If that checks out, clean your injectors with carb cleaner or replace them.
You could also add a shooter of engine cleaner to your fuel which might clear the clogged supply.
