This is the hole that fed into the airbox to the oil collector thing. What is the function of this? Is plugging this hole a problem? Why?  Should I have it connected to a catch bottle instead?

Didn't seem to have any necessary purpose when I took the timing chain cover off, it's just a hole. Was it something intake related? Perhaps lubricating the filter or something like that?  I Want to make sure I'm not damaging anything by simply plugging this hole now that I've deleted my stock airbox

The little pipe at the top front middle of the engine?

For California emissions it vented gas fumes into the engine block so ten molecules of gasoline vapors would not escape into the atmosphere. Just cap it.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Awesome, thanks.  I kinda figured it was emissions like much of the airbox configuration.
